Our planet’s biodiversity is not only beautiful and fascinating, but it is also essential to the existence of life on Earth.  The web of life is so intricately woven that we are connected in the most fundamental and unexpected ways.

The effects of climate change are profoundly effecting biodiversity; We are at the beginning of a mass extinction.  Ending our use of fossil fuels and decarbonizing is a top priority if we are to avoid complete biological collapse.

Extinction is forever.  We have a moral responsibility to future generations and to wildlife to preserve and protect life on Earth. We must do all that we can to preserve native habitats and to protect species who are struggling for survival. This means protecting sensitive habitats and public lands by strengthening the Endangered Species Act as well as improving clean water and air standards.  When in Congress, I will fiercely protect and defend critical habitats and endangered species.
